I will empower Dagoretti youths if elected MCA, comedian Mtumishi
Comedian Mtumishi, whose real name is Gilbert Wanyonyi, has promised to empower youths in Dagoretti if elected as Member of the County Assembly.
Mtumishi is seeking to be the next MCA for Kabiro Ward through an Orange Democratic Party ticket.
The comedian, who is famed for his duo act with colleague Mchungaji on the Churchill Show, is using their tag line “Asande Yesu, Asande Mwami” for his campaign.
Mtumishi, who spoke during an interview on K24 TV, said his empowerment programme will ensure youths become independent and pursue their interests.
“There a leadership vacuum whereby the youths have a lot of ideas which if cash is pumped in, in terms of businesses, they can grow and mature,” said Mtumishi.

He outlined his plan to make loans available for the women and youth as well as training to equip them with business managerial skills.
“I would love to come in as a catalyst and not as politician but as a servant as my name says. I just want to tell them that we need to sit down. Sit down with the people, sit down with youths and understand their problems and together come up with the solutions,” he said.
He urged politicians to remember inclusion and give a chance to the people to participate in offering solutions.
The comedian says he hopes to rise through different elective positions and in the end become the president of Kenya.
Kabiro Ward is in Simba Arati’s Dagoretti North Constituency and its current MCA is Clarence Kipkemboi Munga.
