Wobbly Tusker held away in Muhoroni

Tusker dropped more points when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Muhoroni Youth at Muhoroni on Saturday while  City Stars picked their first point of the season with a one-all draw against Chemelil Sugar at Kisumu’s Moi Stadium.

At the Mbaraki Sports Complex, Bandari FC recorded their second successive home loss this term going down to Sony Sugar by a solitary goal as Western Stima suffered a 1-0 home loss against Thika United at the Kisumu County Stadium.

Muhoroni skipper Abass Akinyemi broke the deadlock in the 21st minute before Wellington Ochieng’s own goal evened out matters in the 32nd minute.

Jeremiah Wanjala however thrust Muhoroni in front again in the 37th minute, but Tusker striker Kevin Kimani scored with a nice volley to spare the brewers the blushes.

In Mombasa, a 63rd minute goal from Sylvester Wanyama enabled Sony Sugar bounce back from last weekend’s 1-0 defeat by Nakuru All Stars.

UNBEATEN RUN

In the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, Shabana’s unbeaten run was ended by a determined Oserian at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

Midfielder Geoffrey Ouma stabbed home the all-important goal from close range with 18 minutes to the end of the match.

This was Shabana’s second consecutive winless match of the season, following a one-all draw away to Nzoia Sugar in their previous match.

In another match, Nzoia stunned Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 in Nairobi. Valen Mahero and Mark Bikeko scored for the sugar millers while Erick Juma replied for Sharks.

Elsewhere, goals from Robert Binje and Joseph Esinyen were enough to secure mid-table side St Joseph a 2-1 win over Nairobi Stima.

The League continues on Sunday afternoon, with leaders Zoo Kericho and fellow contestants Talanta FC and Homeboyz in action.
