Woman held over child’s death
A woman is being held at Muthangari police station over mysterious death of her baby and an alleged plot to transport the body in secret.
Police caught up with her in Kawangware after neighbours learnt of the death of her one-year-old son.
“The child died under unclear circumstances, but we are still waiting for the postmortem results to assist in the investigations,” said police station chief Evans Wanyonyi.
The woman whose live-in partner was jailed in August is alleged to have been seen with her son late Monday evening.
“She carried him on her back until 9pm on Monday and the baby seemed normal to me,” said Beatrice Okello, her neighbour and a relative of the suspects’ jailed partner.
