Woman killed by stray bullet during M-Pesa robbery in Kasarani
A middle-aged woman was killed after she was struck by a stray bullet during a robbery at an M-Pesa shop in Mwiki Estate, Kasarani.
Eyewitnesses said the the two gun-wielding robbers had shot twice in the air as they escaped from the scene on Tuesday night and one of the bullets hit the woman on the head, killing her instantly.
The robbers escaped with an undisclosed amount of money during the 8pm incident.
Meanwhile, another woman was found dead in Mwiki’s Phase 3 estate on Wednesday morning.
The cause of her death sas not been established, but residents suspect she was murdered.
A resident who identified herself only as Beth lamented that there has been an increase in the number of gangs terrorising residents and appealed to the authorities to secure the area.
“Police should step up their operations in the area to allow people to celebrate the festive season in peace. We’re tired of deaths all the time,” she told Nairobi News.
No arrests have been made so far, but police have intensified patrols in the area.
