A teenage woman will serve two years in prison after she was found guilty of stealing Sh50,000 from her one-night host in Kisii town.

Emily Gesare, 19, who pleaded guilty before Chief Magistrate Vincent Mugendi Nyaga, was charged with stealing money from a Good Samaritan who hosted her after she was allegedly kicked out by her employer whom she had been serving as a househelp.

Gesare had found favour in the eyes of the complainant Everlyne Kwamboka who accommodated her after she was helpless.

According to police testimony, Gesare managed to access her host’s M-Pesa PIN number and transferred money to her account without authorisation.

The court heard that police arrested the convict on January 17 this year.
