Women Rep transferred to city hospital after nasty road accident

Nyamira Women Representative Alice Chae and two others were injured in a car accident on Thursday evening.

According to witnesses, the car veered off the road crushing into a nearby shamba injuring Ms Chae, her bodyguard and driver at Duka Moja on the Narok-Maimahiu road

“All the three were injured but their conditions are not badly of. The women rep suffered injury to her hip,” a medical officer who carried out emergency evacuation of the trio said.

She had attended the questioning of former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru by the Parliamentary Accounts Committee and was headed to Kisii for a fundraising.

The event was scheduled for Friday at Riomoro in Kemera Ward.

The MP, bodyguard and driver were first taken to Cortege Hospital in Narok before being transferred to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

Dr Soita Allan has said the MP has received treatment and is in stable condition.

The Ntulele Sub Base report said the accident happened at 2130hrs.

The Toyota Prado was being driven by Philip Ngorikie Sangara, 35, from Nairobi towards Narok. He was slightly injured on the upper lip.

The bodyguard, Dennis Kambi aged 30 years, escaped unhurt.

The report further indicated that the driver “lost control of the motor vehicle due to slippery road surface as the area was experiencing heavy downpour, thus skidded off the road before stopping 50 meters off the road on the left side as one faces Narok direction”.
