Yet another police officer arrested for shooting lover dead


The number of police officers who are killing their lovers using official firearms keeps rising by the day.

The latest incident involved a police constable in Naivasha who got arrested on Thursday night after shooting and killing his girlfriend within the police housing estate.

The constable, based in Kongoni Police Station, Naivasha, admitted to being involved in a scuffle with his 31 year-old girlfriend, according to a police report.

He sprayed bullets on the girlfriend using his AK-47 rifle, killing her instantly.

He was immediately disarmed and his firearm preserved as an exhibit ahead of his arraignment in court.

The body of the deceased was found with bullet holes on the stomach and her thighs.

In Kibarani, Mombasa County, an unidentified body of a man was found Friday morning cut into two near a railway line.

Police suspect the man was crushed to death by a cargo train, but the circumstances of his death remain unclear. Police have launched investigations into the incident.

His body was taken to the Coast General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem and identification.

Meanwhile, a six year-old boy is alleged to have committed suicide at their home in Nyakach, Kisumu County.

The nursery school pupil identified as Sandas Odondi, was found hanging in a pit latrine.

The body was taken to St Jane Nyadero Nursing Home awaiting post-mortem.
