Life cut short: Here’s the young beautiful pilot who flew ill-fated plane – PHOTOS

The pilot who flew the ill-fated FlySax plane, which crashed in the Aberdares on Tuesday, killing all crew and passengers aboard, was a young beautiful woman at the prime of her life.

On Friday, just 24 hours after the discovery of the plane’s wreckage, photos of Captain Barbra Wangeci Kamau made their way into social media, revealing a portrait youthful verve and ambition.

Tellingly, one of the photos shows a uniformed Captain Barbra in the cockpit – with her tongue cheekily stuck out – holding a coffee mug written “Life’s too short for bad coffee!”

While Nairobi News couldn’t verify Captain Barbra’s exact age, clearly her’s is a tragic case of a young life cut short.

Kenyans were shattered by news of the discovery of the wreckage of the FlySax plane in the Aberdares on Thursday.

The wreckage of the plane was found two days after it had gone missing after leaving a Kitale airstrip in Trans-Nzoia County.

The Cessna C208 aircraft, registration number 5Y-CAC, left the airstrip on Tuesday at 4.05pm for Nairobi but lost contact with the control tower at 5.20pm.

On board were the pilot, Captain Barbra Wangeci Kamau, and First Officer and co-pilot Jean Mureithi and eight passengers.

The passengers were Ahmed Ali Abdi, Karaba Sailah Waweru Muiga, Khetia Kishani, Matakasakaraia Thamani, Matakatekei Paula, Ngugi George Kinyua, Pinuertorn Ronald and Wafula Robinson.
