Youthful politician Stanley Kyungu primed for PS role


Businessman Stanley Kyungu is among a number of youths tipped to land a Principal Secretary role in President William Ruto’s government.

Nairobi News understands Kyungu is among applicants who’ve pitched for the job and has impressed as a technocrat and politician.

He unsuccessfully contested for the Makueni parliamentary seat on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in the August 2022 polls coming second in a race won by Wiper’s James Mbaluka.

The youthful politician is also said to have been instrumental in garnering for votes for President Ruto in Ukambani, considered a stronghold for Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

The 28-year-old holds a Masters’ Degree in Science in Healthcare Management, a post-graduate diploma in Leadership and Strategic Management, and an undergraduate in Medical Imaging.

President Ruto recently unveiled his cabinet in which he mainly rewarded loyalists who stood by him in the past five years.

The Head of State is soon expected to name his Principal Secretaries who will be tasked to further his agenda, deliver services and fulfill the promises he made while on the campaign trail.

Other Ruto allies expected to be named as Principal Secretaries are Cleophas Malala, Okoth Obado, Omar Hassan, Nixon Korir, and Macdonald Mariga.
