A-19-year-old lady has been charged with offensive conduct against her biological father.

The charge sheet stated that M.O on April 29, 2023, at Corner Shop situated in Maili Nne area within Turbo Sub County used abusive words to her father K.K in a manner that was likely to provoke a breach of peace.

While appearing before Senior Resident Magistrate Keyne Odhiambo, the accused who appeared reluctant in the dock pleaded guilty to the charge.

The magistrate told the accused that the court was even ashamed to pronounce the words that she uttered to her father.

“As a magistrate of this court, I am even ashamed to pronounce the words you uttered to your father. Where did you get this courage to tell your own father such obscene words,” the magistrate wondered.

The girl’s father who is a prominent trader in Eldoret town implored the court to withdraw the matter after the accused showed her remorsefulness.

“After seeing her remorsefulness by asking forgiveness, I have decided to forgive her as a father,” he told the court.

Even as the matter was withdrawn the magistrate warned the young lady against using such words in the future.

“You are lucky your father has forgiven you but from now you must stop using such language even against your age mate. Go and be a morally upright girl,” the magistrate told her.
