Fred Omondi funeral programme: Heartfelt tributes from family and friends

The late comedian Fredrick Odhiambo Omondi, fondly remembered for his vibrant performances and significant contributions to the Kenyan comedy scene, will be laid to rest on June 29th in  Sega-Siaya County.

A memorial service will be held at Chiromo Chapel on Friday, June 28, 2024, in honor of Fred’s life and legacy.

Following the service, Fred’s body will depart Chiromo Funeral Parlour for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Schedule of Events:

  • 5:45 PM: The body will arrive at Kisumu International Airport, where it will be received by family members, colleagues from the comedy industry, and representatives from CITAM Kisumu Church.
  • 6:30 PM: A funeral procession will then proceed to Sega in Siaya County, where the body will stay overnight before the final burial.

About Fredrick Odhiambo Omondi:

Fred was born on May 9, 1989, to the Late Chief Inspector William Oduor Omondi and the Late Margaret Omondi.

He is survived by his siblings Eric Omondi, Irene Adhiambo Omondi, and was predeceased by his brother Joseph Onyango Omondi.

Fred attended Arya Primary School and later Kisumu Boys High School, where his passion for the arts and performance flourished.

He was an active member of the Christian Union and drama club, which paved the way for his future in comedy.

After completing school, Fred joined his brother Eric Omondi in stand-up comedy at the Churchill Show, becoming a pioneer of modern Kenyan comedy.

Fred’s career saw him become a regular on the Churchill Show, where he made a lasting impact.

He was not only a talented comedian but also an accomplished creative and entrepreneur in the entertainment industry.

His untimely death in an accident on June 15 has left a void in the hearts of many.
