Bernice Saroni: How I moved on after my ex-husband cheated on me

US-based Kenyan music promoter, Bernice Saroni, recently divulged details about moving forward after discovering her ex-husband’s infidelity.

In a candid interview with media figure Oga Obinna, Saroni was forthright about her stance on infidelity. “Once you disrespect me what is there to lose? How can you miss someone who has hurt you? I don’t forgive cheating,” she declared.

Saroni recounted the emotional turmoil she underwent after the incident, sharing that the experience drove her into depression. Not only was it an agonizing period for her, but her children also felt the ramifications.

To reclaim her life after the betrayal, Saroni relocated to the USA. However, in this transitional phase, she made the decision to leave her children in Kenya for a span of six months.

When she eventually brought them to the US, the change was stark and challenging for them. She recounted, “When they came, they were very shocked. I was living in a two-bedroom apartment while where they were coming from was a five-bedroom house. That transition was not easy, and they did not like being in the USA.”

Now dating, Saroni explains that she worked on herself to heal before getting into a relationship. “I had so many things I had to work on, my kids, myself. I have worked so much on my healing so I get to decide this is the man whom I will do life with.  It took me three years to heal so much that when I thought about my ex I was not getting bitter.”

However, she set the record straight that she was not looking for someone to take care of her children or a father figure because they already have their own. “If I’m looking for someone is for me, not for my children.”
