Leopards caretaker committee dissolved
AFC Leopards’ caretaker committee has ceased to exit. The committee, led by Nairobi businessman Amin Walji, was “commissioned” with managing the club by former Chairman Allan Kasavuli when he quit his position last month.
However, the move was met by stiff resistance from the club’s elected officials led by organising secretary Timothy Lilumbi and assistant secretary Asava Kadima who termed it as ‘unconstitutional’.
Since then, the two factions have been involved in a supremacy contest to control the management and affairs of the team.
CLUB CONFUSION
“The committee has met resistance and interference in executing its mandate, the confusion caused by this has made it difficult for us to execute our mandate and even convince sponsors,” the resignation statement from Walji read in part.
Lilumbi’s faction has in the meantime organised a fundraiser that is set to be graced by a number of prominent leaders from Western Kenya
The monies collected from this function will go towards payment of the outstanding salary arrears owed to players stretching back four months.
