Sleep well! Edwin Chiloba to be laid to rest today
The date when LGBTQ activist Mr. Edwin Kiprotich Kiptoo alias Chiloba will be laid to rest can now be revealed.
The family said that the murdered fashion model would be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 17, 2022.
His body will be picked from the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) morgue and taken directly to his home for burial.

The family further said they are set for the burial at their Sergoit village home in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
Ms. Gladys Chiri, the cousin to the deceased who also warned Kenyans against referring to him as a member of the LGBTQ family, said that the body would be picked up from the morgue by 8 am.
“We will head home straight for a family service then burial,” she said.
Mr Chiloba was found murdered, and his body was stashed in a metal box that was dumped at a village near Kipkaren on the outskirts of Eldoret Town, Uasin Gishu County.
A postmortem report revealed that he died due to a lack of oxygen caused by the stuffing of pieces of cloth in his mouth and nose.
According to a report by the Chief Government pathologist, Johansen Oduor, Mr. Chiloba died after failing to breathe.

Immediately the box carrying his lifeless body was dropped along the road by a motor vehicle whose registration number was sealed. This was witnessed by bodaboda riders, who alerted the police.
The incident was reported at Uasin Gishu Police Station. They rushed to the scene, and when they opened the box, they found the man’s decomposing body, dressed in a woman’s clothes.
Mr. Chiloba has never shied away from dressing like a lady and sharing the images across his official social media accounts.
His last Instagram post that he shared on December 29, 2022, indicated that Chiloba had hoped to achieve multiple goals in 2023, among them growing his fashion brand and working with major companies.
Nairobi News exclusively reported that unknown assailants four months ago attacked Mr. Chiloba, but he luckily survived.
