Sabina Chege: Help me Gachagua! They stole my iPhone 14 in Parliament!
Embattled nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege has revealed that her iPhone 14 was stolen during the chaotic sitting in Parliament on Thursday.
Speaking in Meru on Friday, a day after the drama that unfolded in the National Assembly, the Minority Deputy Whip pleaded with the person who might have taken her valuable phone to return it.
“Apart from beating me, they proceeded to steal my phone. It is an iPhone 14, and your Excellency our DP Rigathi Gachagua, I request for your intervention and support so that I can recover the phone. Those who stole the phone, please hand it back to me,” Ms Chege said at the inaugural coffee conference in Meru County.

The scuffle in Parliament erupted following a standoff between Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition and Kenya Kwanza legislators over the opposition coalition’s attempt to remove Ms Chege as the Deputy Minority Whip.

As a result, Ms Chege was among seven lawmakers who were suspended by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula for being disorderly on the floor of the House.
In his ruling over Ms Chege’s fate, Mr Wetang’ula said his hands are tied by a court case in which the two Jubilee factions are seeking court intervention.
Ms Chege, a former Murang’a Woman Representative, was nominated to Parliament on a Jubilee Party ticket after last year’s General Election.
During the campaign period, she a key supporter of Mr Raila Odinga’s candidature, but has since switched loyalty to President William Ruto’s camp.
