Police launch manhunt for suspected robber with handcuffs

Police in Nairobi have launched a manhunt for a suspected robber who they say has handcuffs.

Mr Harry Kartel from Kiambiu within Eastleigh South area in Nairobi has been recording videos of himself posing with the handcuffs.

He has been asked to hand over the handcuffs and give an explanation as to why he is moving around with them.

“Harry Kartel from Kiambiu, sina story mob nataka hizi pingu upeleke any nearest police station na ukifikisha details ziko inbox,” a crime buster known to issue warning to suspected robbers using social media said.

The crime buster further went ahead and threatened that if the suspect did not hand over the handcuffs then he would be declared a threat to the public.

He further told him that if he fails to do so then the police will believe the suspect runs a police station where he makes arrests and takes people.

Meanwhile, police in the Mwihoko area in Ruiru Sub-County within Kiambu County on September 25, 2023, arrested two suspected robbers who have been terrorizing locals.

The two according to the police usually move around the upcoming estate and snatch phones and other valuables.

Nairobi News has established that one of the suspects has a pending case in court where he was nabbed with a stolen mobile phone.

The other suspect poses as a mechanic but police said that he never engaged in such but he was allegedly camouflaging.

Mr Alex Shikondi, the Ruiru Sub-County police boss said that the two will be arraigned in court today, September 26, 2023, to answer to their charges.

“The two are currently at the Matuiya Police station and will be arraigned in court today to answer to the charges,” he said.

For months now locals within Mwihoko have decried the deteriorating security within the area.

Two months ago, two armed robbers were shot dead by police officers moments after storming a supermarket within the area.

Still, police are in pursuit of another suspect identified as Mario who is still at large.
