Digitizing process begins in all health facilities in Nairobi


Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has said his administration is in the process of digitizing all the public health facilities in the county.

Digitizing of records in all the 120 public health facilities and hospitals in Nairobi will help to ensure effective service delivery to the millions of Nairobi residents.

“This system will enable us to see what happen within our health facilities. We shall be able to curb the cases of corruption and drugs theft within the facilities,” Sonko said on Wednesday.

He added that all the public health facilities must be able to digitize all their records as soon as possible.

“We must all embrace changes in technology. Proper healthcare service is a right to every Nairobian. Therefore, we must all strive to achieve this,” he said.

TRANSFORMATION

Meanwhile, Sonko’s government has the ongoing facelift at Pumwani Maternity Hospital to transform the facility is on course as promised by Governor Sonko.

“We are working round the clock to oversee the transformation of the Pumwani Hospital and all other public health facilities within Nairobi,” Acting County Executive Member in charge of Health Charles Kerich said.

Kerich said as the county focuses on improving the infrastructure, they are also focusing on increasing the qualified personnel in all the facilities.

“We shall also employ more doctors, nurses and other health officers in all Nairobi hospitals,” he said.

Other hospitals which are also  undergoing renovation include Mama Lucy Hospital and Mbagathi Hospital.
