Eric Omondi blasts ‘greedy’ artists who join politics

Eric Omondi has advised artists against joining politics.

Instead, the popular comedian says musicians and comedians should concentrate on furthering their careers and building their brands.

“If you are a comedian or musician stick to your gift,” explained Omondi.

“Stick to your calling and drop the nonsense of trying to join politics. You are confusing the calling and gifting of God. Artists stop getting into politics.”

The former Churchill show star further claimed artists joining politics only have a motive of getting money.

“I’m speaking as the president of entertainment. If you are a musician, sing, if you are a comedian, make us laugh. If you get into politics you are a thief and you just want to steal money. Don’t be deceived.”

Incidentally, Omondi who’s in the recent past been working with a number of politicians also claimedit was s sign of greed for the artists to join politics.

“Don’t go to parliament. Once you get into parliament. That’s greed. If you are a musician, why join politics? We know you want money, but God can bless you with that. Stop joining politics,”

Among the artists who’ve joined elective politics ahead of the August 2022 polls are comedian Jasper Muthomi alias MC Jessy and musician Kelvin Kioko popularly known as Bahati.
