Six die in Embakasi after taking unprocessed alcohol


Six people have died and two others blinded after drinking illicit brew in Embakasi.

Four of the victims died at Mama Lucy Hospital where they were rushed to after drinking Wings, a popular brew in the area.

Two others died on the way to hospital two days later after another binge, at the same den — Man Man Wines and Spirits in a part of Embakasi known as Connection.

The first four, who died last Thursday, were named as Lawrence Murage, aged 26, Moses Mwangi Kamande, 40, David Mananda, 25 and a man identified only as Faite.

The two who died on Saturday were known as Odera, a bicycle repairer in the area, and Kamau, a matatu conductor.
