Three journalists have been summoned for interrogation by detectives on Monday in relation to the murder of 29-year old Monica Kimani, Nairobi News understands.

According to the Sunday Nation, Police are seeking the statements of a radio presenter, a TV director, and news presenter.

This trio is expected to divulge more details in relation to what they know about Citizen TV anchor Jackie Maribe and her fiancé Joseph Irungu’s connection to the gruesome murder.

Irungu who is the main suspect, has already appeared in court and is in police custody after the prosecution team successfully appealed to have him detained for 10 days so as to complete investigations.

ARRESTED

Meanwhile, Maribe was arrested on Saturday night and is due to be arraigned in court on Monday.

The investigating team later confirmed they had ‘made a breakthrough’ in this case.

This occurred even as reports suggest Maribe and Irungu might have recently quarreled in public at an entertainment joint in the company of close friends and colleagues.

The deceased who was found in a bathtub at her apartment with a slit throat and tied hands, was buried on Friday in Nakuru.
