Jowie ‘struggling’ to settle in after being moved to Kamiti
Citizen TV presenter Jacque Maribe’s fiancé Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu, the main suspect in the murder case of Monica Kimani, isn’t coping well with jail life after being transferred to Kamiti Maximum Security Prison.
Irungu, who was described as ‘woman eater’ by Justice James Wakiaga, had been incarcerated at the Industrial Area Remand Prison for over two months but has since been transferred to Kamiti.
One of his close friends, Joe Muchiri, who is a media personality, visited him at Kamiti on Wednesday, which happened to be Jowie’s birthday.
STRUGGLING
Muchiri has now narrated the ordeal his friend is going through.
Muchiri disclosed on Twitter that his friend is struggling to settle in his new environment.
“Kamiti is no joke” Muchiri tweeted and immediately his fans started making inquiries about Jowie.
Muchiri responded by revealing that Jowie is not holding up well.
HARDCORE CRIMINALS
Jowie is said to have been transferred following a move to relocate capital offenders from Industrial Area Prison to Kamiti.
The exercise started in August after a number of inmates went on hunger strike protesting alleged brutality and harassment by the prison warders.
Kamiti is structured and better equipped to handle hardcore criminals, which perhaps explains why Jowie is finding the going tough.
