Nairobi Fashion Market set for next week

More 100 exhibitors will display a variety of fashion during the seventh edition of the Nairobi Fashion Market.

The event will be held  on March 8 and 9 at Ngong Race Course.

There will be bargains on must-have items and special treats in the more than 90 market stalls showcasing the best of local  and international fashion. Also, for the first time the event will feature artworks from Kuona Trust in a bid to fuse art and fashion.

“We are working hard to put on a fabulous day for the lifestyle-conscious people. We are confident it will be the best day out in Nairobi this year,” said Lynette Anderson, CEO and founder of Nairobi Fashion Market.

The Spring Market will have fashion shows from designers such as Christine Beth, Zaramu,  AfroStreet Kollections, Ella by Fiona Konchella, Sheena C and the Rift Valley Leather.

The products on sale will include clothes, make-up and cosmetics, jewellery, accessories, body  and hair products and all that is trending internationally.

“We are going to flaunt the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of our designers and retailers and increase public awareness of the dynamic and fast growing Kenyan talent…We will be hosting some exciting fashion shows,” said Ms Anderson.

Most of the retailers are encouraged to sell their products at a discounted price to attract more people and help popularise their goods. Ms Anderson said she started the event to help Kenyan designers put their mark out there and also give them a chance to participate in a fashion event.
