Parents want sons accused of sodomy allowed back to school

July 14th, 2016 1 min read

Two parents of students accused of sodomizing a schoolmate in a high school within the city have gone to court seeking to have them re-admitted.

The students were arraigned before the Kibera Court nearly three months ago and charged with the offense of gang defiling a fellow student.

The minors are accused of intentionally committing the offense on May 12 together with others not before the court.

The parents have petitioned the high court in Milimani to have the two students allowed back to school pending their trial.

According to one mother, her son was wrongly implicated and charged in court.

She argues that being a KCSE candidate, and the fact that she had already paid his full year fees, her child would suffer irreparably.

But the school has  insisted that the students should remain suspended until the matter is concluded in Kibera Court.

The wo were released on a cash bail of Sh 100,000 after being charged.

Justice Edward Muriithi will on June 20 rule on whether to stop the suspension until the cases are determined.
