Starehe gets new police boss

Kipkelion OCPD Barasa Wabomba is set to take over as Starehe OCPD in a reshuffle affecting 17 top officers.

Current OCPD Samuel Anampiu will swap places with Mr Wabomba, ending his one year and three months tenure at the division.

Starehe division has been on the limelight,  recently witnessing  a gunfight between two rival gangs and the emergence of a gang of mostly underage boys in Eastleigh calling itself the superpower gang.

Mr Anampiu admits that his tenure has been tough one, but is saddened by the transfer.

“It is part of the job and you have to always be prepared for anything. I am looking forward to reporting to my new post. I have however enjoyed my time here,” he said.

Former police spokesman Charles Owino has been appointed Njoro OCPD in what has been regarded as a demotion.

Mr Owino was in February moved to the Operations Department, where he only served for three months before being reposted to Vigilance House.

According to a letter signed by the Deputy Inspector General, Grace Kaindi, the officers are expected to report to their new postings on November 8.
