CBD.

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko on Tuesday called on his feuding counterparts, Dr Evans Kidero and Rachael Shebesh to bury the hatchet and concentrate on serving their constituents.

The senator warned that both may end up losers “if they will not call a ceasefire.”

Speaking on phone, Sonko said it was time the two leaders moved on “ as Nairobi was bigger than either of them.”

He reminded them that Nairobians expected them to deliver on their election promises noting that  washing their dirty linen in public was distracting them.

“It is time they learnt that they cannot hold the city at ransom with this unending feud,” Sonko said.

The senator was referring to the unfolding saga between Dr Kidero and Ms Shebesh that will now go to full prosecution after they failed to reconcile.

“I am left with no choice but to urge court to order both governor Kidero and I to be arraigned in court to face the relevant charges,” Ms Shebesh said in an affidavit presented at the High Court on Monday.

Dr Kidero is facing an assault charge while Ms Shebesh will take the dock to answer to the charge of creating disturbance. The governor’s case will begin on Thursday.
