Actress ‘Cookie’ dishes out cookies at Golden Globes Awards

Actress Taraji P Henson, famous for her role as Cookie in the American TV series Empire, gave handed out cookies to members of the audience after she was named the Best Actress in TV Drama during the Golden Globes Awards.

Cookie, who plays and ex-convict mother of three boys and ex-wife to a wealthy music magnet Lucious Lyon played by Terrence Howard, was clad in a white gown during the awards.

Her gown’s train kept getting held by seats as she approached the stage for her award and the hilarious, talented actress had to pull it along when she took the stage.

Her first words, “Cookies for everyone tonight. My treat.”

BIG NAMES

Cookie, who has become a household name among Empire fans in Kenya, went on to thank the organisers of the prestigious event.

The talented actress, whose names Taraji Penda are drawn from the Swahili language, then thanked her on-screen family in her hilarious acceptance speech that left the audience in stitches.

Cookie beat other big names among them Robin Wright, who plays Clare Underwood in House of Cards, and Viola Davis, who plays Annalisa Keating in How to Get Away with Murder.

Denzel Washington received the Cecil B. DeMille Award which honors extraordinary contributions to the entertainment world.
