Diamond Platnumz also ghosted me! Ex-lover Sarah speaks

Tanzanian artiste, Diamond Platnumz’s ex-girlfriend and first lover, Sarah says she is not as broke as many think after her breakup with the bongo star.

She shared her story about their relationship after Diamond revealed that he inspired him to write his breakthrough song after she ended their relationship.

“I am in business, I sell clothes. I love his fans. They were eager to know me. I see comments from people asking how I am. I am not poor. I live so well so much. I am not struggling at all. Naseeb and I remain on good terms, we parted ways amicably,” she said in a recent interview.

Diamond and Sarah recently crossed paths at one of his performances.

Sarah disclosed that Diamond’s song “Kamwambie” was originally inspired by their relationship, even though he didn’t mention her in the lyrics.

She held the belief that Diamond’s debut album was greatly influenced by their relationship, suggesting that many of the songs were written about her.

“Hajawahi kusema anapenda mtu mwingine jinsi anavyonipenda. Tuliishi Pamoja. Tuliishi kama miaka mitatu hivi. Between 2006/2007 to 2009 hivi. Hiyo nyimbo ilikuwa inaitwa ‘Nenda Kwamwambie Sarah’, lakini alifuta kipande cha mbele. Album yake ya kwanza nafikiri nyimbo zote aliandika kwa sababu yangu,”she said.

(He has never said he loves someone else the way he loved me. We lived together. We lived for about three years or so. Between 2006/2007 and around 2009. That song was called ‘Nenda Kwamwambie Sarah,’ but he removed the beginning part. I think he wrote all the songs on his first album because of me.)

Sarah openly admired Diamond’s musical accomplishments, expressing pride in his achievements.

She said Diamond still calls her to find out how she is doing.

“Kuachana siyo vita. Sisi ni marafiki. Nimetafutwa muda mrefu nifanye interview lakini sijawahi. Nina aibu sana. Naseeb anaeza kaa kimya muda mrefu alafu ananipigia akant tuongee aniambie, Sarah nimekukumbuka sana, njoo hata tusalimiane, tuongee.

“Hata yeye mara mingi huniita kwa stage ila naona aibu kupanda. Yeye aongee kwa upande wake, mimi sijawahi kuongea. Na watu wengi wamekuwa wakitaka niongee. Napenda anavyofanya mziki yake. Nafurahi mafanikio yake,” she said.

(Breaking up is not all about war. We are friends. I have been approached for interviews for a long time but I have never accepted. I am very embarrassed. Naseeb can stay silent for a long time and then call me just to talk, telling me, ‘Sarah, I have missed you so much, come let’s at least greet each other, let’s talk.’

Even though he often calls me onto the stage, I feel embarrassed to go up. He speaks from his side, I have never spoken. And many people have been wanting me to speak. I love how he does his music. I am happy for his success.)
