Dogo: I haven’t given up hope of Sweden move

Kenya international Mwanahalima ‘Dogo’ Adam says she has not given up hope of moving to Sweden.

The Harambee Starlets attacker was recently invited to the Scandinavian country for trials and to negotiate a possible transfer at IF Djurgardens.

But it did not happen, as she was instead denied a Schengen Visa to travel to the European country by the Embassy of Sweden in Nairobi.

“I have not given up hope of going to Sweden,” she told Nairobi News before leaving with the national team to Turkey to compete at the Turkish Women Cup.

“I did not have bank statements (as required by the visa rules) to show proof of income from my end. When I return from Turkey, I will put my paperwork in order and then apply again.”

Starlets coach David Ouma has also given his blessings for Adam’s possible move abroad.

“She has worked very hard in the past two years. She is talented. I wish her all the best,” said Ouma.

The creative attacker was among a number of Starlets players who starred for Kenya during the 2019 Cecafa Women Challenge Cup and 2020 Olympics qualifiers.

Kenya was set to play Northern Ireland in the opening match of the tournament on Wednesday evening.
