DP Ruto ‘adds’ new verse to the Bible – VIDEO

Deputy President William Ruto is a man who loves to not only publicly professing his Christian faith, but also preaching and quoting the Bible from time to time.

Last weekend, however, the DP completely got his knowledge of the Bible all mixed up as he quoted a non-existent verse.

While speaking on Sunday to Salvation Army congregants at Township Primary School in Kakamega town, the DP cited a famous Bible verse to explain why he will not stop making financial donations to churches.

NON-EXISTENT VERSE

Speaking in Swahili, Ruto quoted Mathew 6:35 saying:

“Lakini tafuteni kwanza ufalme wa mbinguni na haki yake, na haya yote mtaongezewa (But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you).

What may have escaped some of the faithfuls’ attention is that the said Bible verse he quoted does not exist (Matthew Chapter 6 ends in verse 34).

Ruto’s quote is actually taken from Matthew 6:33.
