Eight injured in accident on superhighway
Eight people sustained minor injuries on Monday morning after a minibus overturned on Thika superhighway, near Utalii hotel.
The 6am accident caused heavy traffic jam on the highway, with morning commuters stranded as police cleared the wreckage from the road.
The victims were treated at Mathari hospital for minor injuries.
The driver and conductor of the Travellers Sacco minibus reportedly fled the scene after the accident.
Initial reports indicate the driver was speeding and lost control as he attempted to change lanes.
The wreckage of the matatu was towed to Pangani police station.
