Emotional video of actor Mr Ibu’s final days surfaces online


A video capturing the last moments of Hollywood actor Mr Ibu’s life has stirred emotions among fans and colleagues alike.

Singer Rudeboy, a member of PSquare, shared an emotional video of the talented comedian during his final days, where Mr Ibu expressed gratitude and fondness towards the singer for his support.

In the heart-wrenching footage on Rudeboy’s Instagram stories, Mr Ibu is seen lying in his hospital bed, sharing heartfelt words with Rudeboy.

“Rudeboy, I don’t know where to begin. But everything happens exactly on God’s own time. When the time comes, it has come,” Mr Ibu said, acknowledging the inevitability of his fate.

He continued, “Rudeboy, if you don’t make heaven, call me nama [meat]. You will go to heaven, and we will sit in the presence of the angels and eat together.”

Reflecting on their bond, Mr Ibu remarked, “What people will be talking about today would be, ‘How come? But Ibu and P-Square, they are not the same parents.’ But I tell you, parents don come.”

Rudeboy, visibly moved by Mr Ibu’s words, expressed his profound sorrow over the loss.

Having spent several weeks by the actor’s side during his illness, Rudeboy shared his disbelief and anguish at Mr Ibu’s passing.

Taking to social media, Rudeboy poured out his emotions, questioning why despite his efforts, Mr Ibu departed.

In a poignant message, he lamented the unpredictability and fragility of life, stating:

“I slept in the hospital with you for several weeks just to be there with you and all .. and you still left. God why?? #mribu. Aswear forget !!! Nothing dey for this life.”

News of Mr Ibu’s illness first surfaced online in October 2023, during his 62nd birthday celebration.

The iconic actor breathed his last on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at a hospital in  Nigeria.

Emeka Rollas, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, confirmed the passing of Mr Ibu, revealing that the esteemed actor succumbed to a cardiac arrest on Saturday, March 2.

“I announce with deep sense of grief that Ibu didn’t make it. Mr Ibu suffered a cardiac arrest according to his manager of 24 years,” President Rollas stated on his Instagram page.
