Eric Omondi mobilises fans to settle ailing TikToker Mwana Mtule’s hospital bill

Comedian Eric Omondi has stepped forward to rally his fans and followers to aid the distressed gospel artiste Mwana Mtule, who was reportedly stranded at Kenyatta Hospital due to an outstanding medical bill.

Taking to his social media platforms on Monday, Omondi passionately appealed to his vast audience, urging them to contribute whatever they could to clear the medical expenses and facilitate Mwana Mtule’s release from the hospital.

The call for assistance comes after Mwana Mtule, on Sunday, pleaded with Kenyans to help him settle a hefty hospital bill amounting to Ksh450,000.

Expressing disbelief at the accumulating costs, the gospel singer maintained that he could not comprehend how the bill reached such a staggering amount, even after he had paid Sh462,000 that well-wishers had generously donated.

“Hello family, if you have the means to help me, kindly assist. I hear people saying I’m faking. I was discharged from Kenyatta Hospital, but the balance is Ksh450,000, and I don’t understand how it reached that 😞. I had given them Ksh462,000 that you contributed. Thank you, family 🙏, but now I need to be home. They have detained me until I clear the Ksh450,000 balance. I am a bit confused. #knh,” Mwana Mtule appealed.

Upon being tagged in the post, Eric Omondi promptly visited Mwana Mtule at the hospital.

In his initial post, Omondi disclosed, “This guy has really gone through a lot. Team sisi kwa sisi, I am pleading with you to help him. He was discharged about a month ago, but he is being held here because of a pending bill of Ksh450,000.”

The comedian also shared Mwana Mtule’s contact details for those willing to make donations, urging his fans to act swiftly to ensure the gospel artiste did not spend another night in the hospital.

Responding to the call for help, Omondi’s fans demonstrated overwhelming support by contributing funds.

After nine hours, the comedian shared an update, revealing that they had received Ksh370,000, leaving a balance of Ksh80,000 to meet the target.

As of this morning, the accumulated funds proved sufficient to settle Mwana Mtule’s hospital bill, bringing relief to the artiste who had been hospitalised for two months after allegedly falling victim to poisoning.
