Ex-KBC journalist found dead in mysterious circumstances


Media personality Sally Kwendo, who had gone missing from her Nairobi residence, has been discovered dead.

The former Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) host is said to have passed away on November 28, 2023, a few weeks after reports of her alleged abduction surfaced online.

Steve Kay, a close friend of the late Sally Kwendo, took to Facebook to share the devastating news, revealing that her body had been found at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

The body is currently awaiting her husband’s consent before being transferred to the mortuary.

“What a sad morning. Rest well Sally Kwendo hii dunia ni Rangi aki. Ni juzi tu nimekua kwako ukinieleza kuwa utakua sawa,” expressed Steve Kay.

Sally Kwendo, who had previously hosted a show at KBC, left the broadcasting corporation a few years ago to pursue private business ventures in Nairobi.

Colleagues who spoke to Nairobi News described her as an outgoing and amiable individual.

The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, as investigations are likely to be underway.

On her Facebook profile, Sally projected a lively lifestyle, sharing photos and videos of herself dancing and providing glimpses into her experiences.

The news of her demise has left her colleagues in shock, with many expressing their condolences and memories of the cheerful media personality.

Sally Kwendo is an alumna of The Sacred Heart Girls High School in Mukumu.

She leaves behind a legacy in the media industry, and her untimely passing has cast a somber mood on those who knew her.
