Gloria Orwoba’s irony as she seeks Silvanus Osoro’s guidance in Kisii politics

In the dramatic world of Kisii politics, Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba finds herself in an unexpected twist as she calls on South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro to be her mentor.

The irony unfolds as she condemns Osoro for his alleged role in causing chaos at an event hosted by Kisii Governor Simba Arati in his constituency.

The storm began when Governor Arati was distributing bursaries in South Mugirango early this week, and Osoro, the area MP, reportedly crashed the event, resulting in injuries and public outcry.

Gloria, affiliated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, did not hold back in criticising Osoro, branding his politics as outdated and tainted with chaos.

In a sarcastic turn of events, Gloria, with a hint of humour, expressed her desire for Osoro to be her Kisii politics mentor.

“I can see we have started the year badly in Kisii. Sometimes, politicians, what is wrong with us? Instead of competing on ideas, you go to the venue with guns blazing, with goons, wanting to shoot people? I do not understand. Teach me (referring to MP Silvanus Osoro) Kisii politics,” she quipped.

As the political turmoil in South Mugirango continues to be a topic of dissatisfaction among Kisii County leaders, Gloria, a vocal UDA Senator, questions the motives behind the chaos.

“Simba Arati is the governor for every resident in Kisii County. If he intends to distribute bursaries in South Mugirango, children should not be denied, as receiving them might create an impression that they support the governor,” she pondered.

Despite expressing her support for Osoro, Gloria criticized his actions, claiming that he failed the political exams, even in comparison to her class one political understanding.

She accused Osoro of causing chaos without presenting any constructive demands, suggesting that he could have at least requested an opportunity to speak.

She asserted her confidence that Osoro caused mayhem after reviewing videos of the incident.

Gloria points fingers at the National Assembly Whip, suggesting his involvement in the anarchy.

Issuing a stern warning of a potential loss in the 2027 elections, she emphasizes that employing goons to create mayhem is an outdated approach in a democratic country.

It is not the first time Governor Arati and Mr Osoro are engaging in a fistfight.
