Charles Njagua alias Jaguar and Cate Waruguru are among the notable exclusions from the list of nominated members of the National Assembly and Senate.

These two former lawmakers were widely tipped to be nominated but their names were missing in the Kenya Gazzette released today.

Jaguar, the former Starehe lawmaker, lost out to Samuel Mbugua in his bid to defend the seat on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket. He later mended ways with President-elect Ruto and it was widely believed he will be rewarded with a nomination. That has not happened.

Waruguru, the former Laikipia woman representative, also lost out in the UDA nominations.

She later announced her support for a Ruto presidency in exchange for a nomination slot.

“Congratulations to the specially elected team both to the National Assembly and Senate. You are capable of steering the agenda of the United Democratic Alliance Party,” she wrote on her social despite her name missing out.

Among the members appointed are Jackson Kipkemoi Kosgei, Teresia Wanjiru Mwangi Abdisirat Khalif Ali Dorothy Muthoni Ikiara Joseph Wainaina Iraya

Among the notable nominations are Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairman John Mbadi, former Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege, and UDA Secretary-General Veronicah Maina.

Others are former Uasin Gishu senator Prof Margaret Kamar (Jubilee) and former Lamu Woman Rep and Wiper Party Secretary General Shakila Abdalla (Wiper).

The list was gazetted by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision (IEBC) Wafula Chebukati.
