Why some Kenyans are not taking John Kerry’s tweet kindly
The head of Carter Centre Observers Mission John Kerry has riled Kenyans on Twitter with a post on Monday on the just concluded general elections.
The Former United States Secretary of State, in his tweet, urged Kenyans to resolve election complaints through the courts and for the Kenya police to allow for peaceful assembly.
All the people of Kenya are in my thoughts. I urge all to resolve complaints through the courts & for police to allow for peaceful assembly. https://t.co/DWM8e1uoZf

KOT led by Nairobi Woman Representative- elect Esther Passaris responded by asking Mr Kerry why he and other observers were quick to put the okay stamp on the 2017 general elections in the first place.
This is what they had to say.
When one of our most celebrated lawyers does not see our courts as an option for justice it speaks volumes about our institutional failures.

I stood from 8AM to 2PM to vote. For change that will never happen.
My Uncle used to say keep voting in each election but its nonsense now— Dadex Sam Ojowa (@DadexSamOjowa) August 14, 2017
I hear you. I feel you. But we have to put our trust in God. There is a limit to how far a Nation or a people can be pushed to the brink.

We need a way forward Manzi wa Nairobi. You are our leaders. We need directions

Didn't you put the a-okay on this election? Why the heck would anyone be upset after that stamp of approval?

Aa democrat migrant from Kenya. He simply agreed with rigged IEBC results without authenticating. What a disappointment

I always thought Democratic leaders were for little guy but what @JohnKerry did left me hopeless

We have valid reasons for keeping off the courts.

Sad state of affairs for a country with so much potential. We have the best brains but our greed is insatiable & our integrity diminishing.

You have the US State Machinery and intelligence to investigate and be man enough to retract your blanket nod on the Kenyan elections.

While you have us in your thoughts. Ponder on this. What if the elections were stolen right before your eyes? Where goes our democracy?
— Hon. Esther M Passaris (@EstherPassaris) August 14, 2017
Are you doubting whether you won? I voted for you mama. We are still waiting for your tally of form 34s.
