Lupita’s ‘Black Panther’ premieres in celebration of African royalty
Monday night’s world premiere of the movie Black Panther at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre was a well-coordinated colorful celebration of black excellence.
The movie, which also stars among others Oscar Award winner Lupita Nyong’o, had a “royal attire requested” dress code for the invited guests who delivered in style.
In keeping with the royal attire theme, the guests hit the purple-hued carpet in a kaleidoscopic display of regal, Africa-inspired fashion.
The actors, actresses and guests gathered to celebrate African culture and rock in truly stunning outfits in every color of the rainbow.
Lupita, who plays Nakia, wore a gorgeous purple gown with a gold harness.
The Marvel film follows a black superhero, T’Challa, who faces danger when he returns home and becomes king of the African nation Wakanda after his father dies.
The movie will hit the theaters on February 16.
