Police hunt for laptop thief caught on CCTV

Police are investigating an incident in which a middle aged man was caught on camera stealing a laptop at the Mentor Group offices located in Westlands.

The offices are located on sixth floor, New Rehema house, Rhapta Road.

The man is seen on CCTV footage tip toeing into the premise on Thursday evening, cautious not to be seen by employees who were at the photocopier section.

He then advanced to a section in the office where it is alleged he stole the laptop.

The suspect later leaves the office after eight minutes, still cautious of being noticed by employees who were working late.

The clip shows one of the employees leaving the photocopy section just before the suspect completes his mission and walks out.

Employees believe the suspect made a phone call while still in the premises. The owner of the laptop has requested CID headquarters to trace phone calls made in the building to assist in arresting the suspect.

The suspect is said to have appeared in several other CCTV footages around Hurligham and Upper Hill areas where office supplies are reported to have been stolen.
