Prince Indah splashes millions on new hit

Prince Indah says his latest song is the most expensive project he ever did.

Recording and producing the cost reportedly set him back Sh3 million.

The hit, titled ‘Nyar Jaduong’ is set to be released this weekend.

Prince Indah, born Evans Ochieng Owino, whose music rotation has been on the rise in the past three years, described the new song as a “very serious project” that was “very expensive to produce”.

He also expresses confidence that the song will be well received by his fans.

“It’s a very serious project. I am certain the song will take over the airwaves. The kind of video of song we will release, I don’t think if there is any Kenyan artiste who has ever done like what we have. And this is not clout chasing, there is no Kenyan artistes who has done so (put a huge investment in a video project).

The entire project cost me at minimum Sh2.5 million and if we add the miscellaneous costs, it would hit Sh3 million. So far this is the most expensive project on my catalogue,” Indah says.

Indah maintains the location of the shooting is a non-issue but an aspect that made the project costly is the story line and those incorporated in it to bring out the said story.

The project is directed by popular film producer Daudi Anguka.

Besides this hit, the singer, who mainly sings in vernacular, is known for other tracks such as Osiepe, Mashabiki, Ogada Member and Adhiambo, which he sang alongside celebrated artist Kelvin Kioko aka Bahati.

Adhiambo which has since garnered 26 million views on YouTube was well received after the two singers infused several celebrities in the video including politicians Paul Ongili aka Babu Owino, Charles Njagua aka Jaguar, and Phelix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o.

Other celebrities who made an appearance in the Adhiambo video are comedian Eric Omondi and Captain Otoyo.
