City residents defy Nkaissery ban, heckle Ruto in Tassia tour – VIDEO

City residents on Tuesday defied a ban slapped by Interior Secretary Joseph Nkaissery on heckling of political candidates in campaign rallies.

Residents in Tassia heckled Deputy President William Ruto during his campaign tour of Embakassi East constituency.

The hecklers recorded the incident on their smartphones and shared it with ODM candidate Babu Owino who promptly shared it on his Facebook account.

In the footage, shouts of “Unga” and “Nasa” greeted the unperturbed DP who continues waving atop a moving vehicle.

Hours earlier, CS Nkaissery had announced that police would start arresting people who heckle candidates addressing political rallies.

The directive came amid increasing number of viral videos on social media that have captured members of public heckling presidential candidates Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga and other aspirants.
