Miguna, Kenneth mock Sonko for ‘formal’ look
Nairobi gubernatorial candidates Miguna Miguna and Peter Kenneth have lashed out at their competitor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, whom they accuse of donning suits to woo voters.
Speaking separately, the two independent candidates also claimed that Sonko, the capital’s outgoing Senator, has no plan and agenda for Nairobi.
“Wearing a suit doesn’t suddenly make one a leader. Sonko is worse than (incumbent Evans) Kidero,” Miguna said during his weekly Facebook video chat with his followers.
“When someone suddenly starts wearing suits, it doesn’t make you the best candidate. Candidature is about ideas, plans and manifestos,” Kenneth, who was speaking in Baba Dogo, also said.
Known for his abrasive nature, rugged dress code and hoody hairstyle down the years, Sonko has in recent times suddenly transformed his outlook into that of a gentleman, with a formal profile of suit wear, clean shave and soft speaking.
The new look Sonko has been the subject of heated debate on social media.
Also in the Nairobi gubernatorial race is the incumbent Dr Kidero.
