Rigathi Gachagua ‘endorsed’ to succeed Ruto in 2032

Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has sensationally endorsed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to succeed President William Ruto.

Speaking on Thursday, April 6, 2023, after attending the Oil Consecration ceremony at AIPCA church in his county, Wamatangi also urged the church leaders to anoint President Ruto with special oil as he eyes re-election in 2027.

“I want a special anointing oil for Ruto to get re-elected in 2027,” he said.

Adding: “We should also anoint our own Gachagua ahead of the presidential election in 2032.”

Wamatangi also asked the church to anoint Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga, whom he referred to as ‘problematic’.

“Can this oil be applied to this man who has always caused problems in our country? If you can only spare some oil and the Archbishop applies on him facing the direction where he comes from so that when they start working, he is slowly moving to his home,” Wamatangi added.

“I saw a write-up by his people saying he would not want to have a handshake with Gachagua. Do not worry, we know what made him not think twice. There is no politician whom they fear like you.”

Wamatangi lauded the DP as a person who does not shy away from speaking the truth.

“This is because when you start speaking and you bite your lip, they know things have taken a different turn. So do not be dismayed, there is no nusu mkate (sharing of government with Mr Odinga).

The seasoned politician even claimed, but without substantiating, that Gachagua is the one holding President Ruto’s hand.

“I like you because when you speak you tell the truth and do not shy from saying things as they are. Let us go that way so that our government forges forward.”

President Ruto is allowed by the constitution to contest for two terms of five years each. He is currently serving his first term.

Gachagua’s endorsement meanwhile, brings to the fore memories of the recent spat between former president Uhuru Kenyatta and his then DP William Ruto.

Mr Kenyatta endorsed Ruto as his successor during his first term of office but appeared to change his mind upon re-election and accused his then deputy of engaging in early campaigns.
