Raila hosts Uhuru in family-filled birthday bash – PHOTOS
ODM leader Raila Odinga turned 74 in style, hosting President Uhuru Kenyatta and coast leaders at his Nyali home in Mombasa on Monday.
The president joined Mr Odinga and his wife Ida in cutting the birthday cake as their staff and politicians looked on.
Also present was Mr Odinga’s elder brother Oburu, daughter Rosemary and granddaughter.
Earlier at the the launch of the Sh460 million Mama Ngina waterfront project, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho led the crowd to sing a happy birthday song for Mr Odinga.
Tourism CS Najib Balala, who was present, observed cheekily; “The new age of Raila Odinga is 54 years-old. He is part of the millennials.”
Leaders who attended Mr Odinga’s birthday party in Nyali included Governors Joho, Mike Sonko, MPs Mishi Mboko (Likoni) Ken Chonga (Kilifi South) Senator Stewart Madzato (Kilifi), Mombasa Woman Rep Aisha Mohammed and Kwale Woman Rep Zuleikha Juma.
