Nigerian legend Jay Jay Okocha to visit Nairobi with Premier League trophy

Augustine Azuka ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha, the legendary former captain of the Nigeria’s Super Eagles is set to visit Nairobi, Kenya, with the English Premier League trophy for an exclusive viewing event to ‘elevate the event fervor for all present’.

The Nigerian player is hailed as the most skillful African footballer of all time as evidenced by his performance in the 1990 World Cup that highly impressed Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho.

His Premier League playing career dates back to 2003 when he signed up with Bolton Wanderers until the end of his contract in 2006.

According to his Premier League records, he appeared in 124 matches, scored 14 goals and orchestrated 11 assists. He also received one player of the month in November 2003. He also went on to play for Paris Saint Germain in France.

Okocha further boasts stints with a number of clubs in France, Germant, Turkey, England, Qatar and India before he hanged his boots in 2002.

During a past birthday, his fans wished him well as some called upon him to come out of retirement and help Manchester United restore their glory days as witnessed during Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign.

The exclusive viewing event meanwhile is scheduled to take place from September 1, 2023 to September 2, 2023.

The highlight of the Premier League Trophy event will be its grand showcase on Saturday, 2nd September 2023, at the Carnivore Grounds where fans will be welcomed from 9am to 4pm.
