Martin Kasavuli honors late mother Catherine during breast cancer awareness month


Martin Kasavuli, the son of the late renowned TV presenter Catherine Kasavuli, is commemorating the month of October by celebrating the memory of his beloved mother.

He also highlighted the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Through his Instagram page, Martin shared a poignant message, acknowledging that in October, the world thinks pink.

This month serves as an opportunity to intensify awareness surrounding Breast Cancer, a cause that is often underscored to prioritize essential health considerations that should not be neglected during the other eleven months of the year.

Catherine Kasavuli, an iconic figure in the Kenyan media industry for several decades, tragically lost her battle with cervical cancer.

She passed away at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) on December 29, 2022, at the age of 60.

Martin Kasavuli described his mother as a precious gift from God and expressed his heartfelt sentiments, saying:

“Catherine, whenever I am missing you, I also remember how fortunate I was that you were in my life. I wouldn’t trade those moments for the world. You were precious, a gift from God, possessing an abundance of beauty, grace, love, and patience.”

He continued, “You touched my heart in so many ways. Even on dark days, your strength and smile made me realize I had an angel beside me. I’m still learning how to navigate life without you. Mama, I miss you.”

Two months before her demise, Kasavuli had courageously shared the challenges she faced upon receiving a diagnosis of cervical cancer.

Despite her health battle, she expressed her gratitude to those who supported her during this difficult time.

In her own words, the late Kasavuli acknowledged the tumultuous journey she had been through during the month of October.

She took a moment to express her appreciation for her family, colleagues, doctors, and the Catherine Kasavuli Foundation.

Even while confined to her sickbed, the esteemed TV icon extended her heartfelt thanks to the individuals who selflessly donated blood when called upon.

Catherine Kasavuli also showed her deep appreciation for a group of individuals who had conntributed to her medical expenses.

She conveyed her love and blessings to these generous souls who had come to her aid during her health challenges.
