J Blessing confirms split with Avril amid assault claims
J Blessing, a music video, director, and television producer has confirmed splitting up with singer Judith Nyambura Mwangi aka Avril.
In a recent update on his Instagram stories, following the emergence of assault allegations, J Blessing explained the two had agreed to ‘stay away from each other’.
He wrote, “Avril and I have agreed that both of us should stay away from each other to prevent such incidents from happening again.”
Additionally, he addressed the assault allegations by confirming that one of the circulating photos of Avril with a bruised face was indeed from an ‘altercation’ that occurred a year prior.
He said, “We had a physical altercation where we both got hurt and on that day, I immediately took her to the hospital. I take full responsibility for that moment of weakness. One of the pictures she posted is from that incident.”
However, he claimed he did not beat her ‘last night’ as suggested. Clearing his name, the renowned cinematographer noted, “I sincerely apologize for any harm I have caused Avril or any other person. I am not an abuser, and I do not support violence. I am a human being who has made mistakes in my life.”
Earlier on, Avril, a renowned singer, had also issued her statement saying that she had forgiven her baby daddy and even pleaded with her fans to also follow suit adding that ‘everyone is deserving of forgiveness in this life.’
She also expressed her willingness to work on her seven-year relationship noting that they (her and J Blessing) recognised the need for change and were committed to seeking help and learning healthier ways to communicate and resolve issues.
“Our mutual goal is to create a more positive and supportive environment for each other, fostering understanding and growth,” she said.
