If you’ve survived your man for a year, throw yourself a party – Pastor

Relationships can be hard to maintain, especially if they are romantic ones. Merging lives with a person who does not share your ideals 100% can be cause for conflicts and that is why many relationships tend to be in the intensive care unit for approximately the first six months after settling down.

During these six months, some people find it hard or unnecessary to adjust their lifestyles to being a member of a committed relationship despite their partner making life adjustments for them.

At this time, the chances of separations occurring are highly likely as opposed to clocking past the six months.

One pastor, Reverend Daniel Mgogo, recognised that there are some women who manage to persevere in relationships for an entire year, and urged them to celebrate at the end of the year if they achieve such a milestone.

“If you live with a man from January to December, throw yourself a party. Celebrate that ‘God, you have given me the grace to live with this creation of yours for an entire year’. Look for a rooster, roast it, and eat it alone. Tell your children and husband you will give them other foods. That the rooster is for congratulating yourself,” he told the congregation.

“Because there are your fellow women who gave up and raised their hands up in defeat after living with a man. She thought about all the chores she did in the home while her man’s head was filled with pride and blinded him, claiming his woman was simply eating and filling the toilet like a child.

If these women one day wake up and demand that anyone who gives birth to children should be paid monthly, or be paid to go through labor, and breastfeeding all day…will we men be able to pay these bills? A child wakes up wanting to breastfeed, and then you find the mother telling it to wake up their father because he has not paid her for breastfeeding yet…” preached Pastor Mgogo.

His congregation met his sentiments with applause and laughter while his online viewers affirmed his message, some saying they did intend to celebrate the feat they have pulled through in 2023.

“Only two months but weuh, where will I get that rooster,” said Winnie Cherop.

“In December, I will look for a turkey I celebrate. I’ll cook it with spices in the oven. For real,” added Rae.

“The party that I will throw on December 25, you all should attend,” added Kamih.

“This is so true, it is not easy,” laughed another user on TikTok.

“I am waiting for that December. I can’t wait. We are one year in but mmh, just leave that story alone,” laughed Naomi Maina.
