A woman who on Monday confessed to having knifed her husband’s manhood has denied the claims.

Ms Angel Mutuku, in her mid-20s, who was to be sentenced on Thursday, requested the charge be read to her arguing that she did not understand it properly.

And when the court clerk read it, she entered a plea of not guilty to assault.

Prosecuting counsel Lydia Kagori told chief magistrate Julius Nang’ea to set the case for a mention next week saying the accused’s husband wants to forgive his wife.

FIGHT BROKE OUT

Mr Stephen Ochieng Oyuga is admitted at Bomu Medical Centre.

The statement at Changamwe police station reads: “The complainant was asleep at around 5:30am when his wife slapped him on the back and started accusing him for sleeping for too long.”

Mr Oyuga stated that he slapped his wife “for awaking him very roughly” before a fight broke out between them adding that he pushed her to the ground.

The angry Ms Mutuku allegedly stood up and went to the kitchen and emerged with a small knife which she used to cut her husband’s manhood.

The case will be mentioned March 1.
