Betty Kyallo’s return to TV after four years sparks excitement among fans

After an absence of four years since leaving K24, media personality Betty Kyallo has made a triumphant return to television.

She has now joined Cape Media Limited and will be taking on the role of news anchor for TV 47.

“After almost four years. I’m back. TV47 is my home now. I can’t wait to see you, my dear viewers. This is my favourite stage! Yaaaay! See you soo…,” she announced the news on Facebook.

Betty Kyallo’s journey in the media

Betty Kyallo started her journey at KTN as an intern and eventually became a prime time news anchor, most notably presenting the Friday Briefing at 9pm.

She later moved to K24 where she presented the weekend programme ‘Up Close with Betty’.

She left K24 in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in May 2020 and ventured into entrepreneurship, setting up her salon and spa, Flair by Betty, in Kilimani.

In mid-2021, she expanded her beauty business with the opening of Aftershave by Flair Barbershop and Bk Closet.

On June 17, 2022, Showmax debuted Kyallo Kulture, a reality series focusing on Betty’s lifestyle and that of her younger sisters, Mercy and Gloria.

By April 2023, she had further expanded her business ventures by opening a new branch of After Shave by Flair in Meru.

“Two years later, we are launching the first franchise from Nairobi! Oh my!!!!! I’m so happy! So excited. So grateful! I believe that as entrepreneurs we should always be looking for ways to breathe life into our business,” she said.

Betty described herself as a king’s daughter.

In April, Betty Kyallo revealed that rent had become an overwhelming challenge for her business, resulting in her Flair by Betty salon being auctioned off due to rent arrears.

“It has become so difficult to run a business in Kenya. Landlords don’t want to reduce rent and it becomes a huge burden on businesses that are struggling because of the economic slowdown,” Betty said on her IG page.
