Bobby V to headline inaugural ‘We Love R&B’ concert in May
Popular American singer Bobby V formerly known as Bobby Valentino is set to serenade R&B fans this May at the We Love R&B Concert.
The inaugural concert, scheduled for Saturday, May 25, will feature performances by two American artists, as well as several talented Kenyan acts.
The concert will take place at The Dome, Nairobi Showgrounds, and promises to be a celebration of RnB.
Bobby V whose real name is Bobby Marcel Wilson made a significant impact on the 2000s RnB scene after embarking on his musical journey as a member of the RnB group Mista in 1994.
However, it was his solo career that catapulted him to international fame, with the release of his debut solo single, Slow Down, in 2005.
Since then, Bobby V has consistently delivered hit after hit, including fan favorites such as Anonymous, Tell Me and My Angel, as well as his memorable feature on Lil Wayne’s Mrs. Officer.
He recently collaborated with Kenya’s own King Kanja on a joint EP titled Foreign Exchange featuring tracks like Like This.
This collaboration showcases Bobby V’s enduring appeal and cross-cultural influence.
This will be the 44-year-old’s second performance in the country following his maiden appearance back in August of 2018 alongside fellow American singer Keri Hilson.
The highly anticipated concert series is a partnership between BNB & Streetlife International the renowned promoters behind HYPE Festival – Germany’s biggest hip hop and Afrobeats festival and the Kings of R&B Concert Series which has featured the RnB legends like Boys 2 Men, Joe and Keith Sweat among others.
Tickets for the event are going for Sh4,000 early bird, while VIP tickets offer premium access and are available for Sh10,000.
